The design

Momento Inside, the surprise is inside

It is the opposite of the classic Momento cup. Outside, the lava stone stays dark and porous, protected by a clear glaze. All the colour is inside, and you only see it when you pick it up or finish your coffee.

Each cup starts as a block of Etna lava stone, carved by hand. It is then glazed and fired in the kiln: the glaze makes it waterproof and easy to wash. The stone holds heat, so the coffee stays hot longer than in a ceramic cup.

It comes in two colours: Sicily, with red, yellow and gold, and Mediterranean, with blue and white. It is made to order, by hand, so preparation can take a little longer.

Care and shipping

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes, cup and saucer can handle normal washing. To keep the glaze looking good for longer, hand washing is better.

Does it really keep coffee hot?

Yes. Lava stone stores heat: rinse it with hot water before pouring and the coffee stays hot even longer.

How long does it take to arrive?

It is made by hand to order, so it takes a little longer than a product in stock. If you need it by a certain date, write to us before ordering.
